Description

The scarab is genuine and old — a lilac amethyst, carved on the back with the beetle’s wing cases, and reused here as the body of the harp.

Around it the goldwork is Egyptian-revival: a kneeling figure in a striped headcloth, a falcon head at the harp’s foot with one green stone for its eye, and bands of red, blue and green enamel laid into the gold.

The base is a bar supported on two coiled serpents. The brooch pin runs behind that bar, which means the piece hangs straight off a lapel instead of tipping forward under the weight of the stone.

The photographs are honest — it is the same colour of gold in daylight as it is on the page, which I did not expect.

  2. T. Halvorsen (verified owner)

Bought for an anniversary. The finish is far better than anything I was shown in the chain shops at twice the price.

  3. S. Novak (verified owner)

Beautiful piece and the box it arrives in is lovely. Half a star off because I had to email to ask about the chain length.

  4. R. Iyer (verified owner)

They talked me out of a more expensive piece because it was wrong for my hand. I have bought twice more since.

The photographs are honest — it is the same colour of gold in daylight as it is on the page, which I did not expect.
