Description
The stone is an unfaceted emerald, high-domed, with visible inclusions and a pale window at one side. It has not been recut and we would not recut it.
Six blunt gold claws grip it, and the entire shoulder beneath is worked in granulation — beads of gold fused in rows and clustered into small rosettes across the bezel and down the shank.
An antiquity from the archive. The shank is thin at the back and has been repaired once historically; it is stable as it stands, but this is a ring for occasional wear, not a daily one.
