Description
No decoration at all. The rod is round in section, thickens slightly at the top of the curve and thins toward the two ends, which are simply sawn flat.
The metal is soft high-carat gold and the surface is matte where it was worked rather than buffed. Small dark marks near the left terminal are original and have been left alone.
It springs open a few millimetres to pass the wrist and closes back. Do not open it repeatedly for the sake of it — at this carat the metal work-hardens and will eventually crack at the top of the arc.
