Forged from bar stock, so the section thickens toward the terminals where the metal was upset under the hammer rather than added.
Only the terminal faces carry engraving; the rest of the ring is left plain with the forging marks still on it.
It opens at the front and slides on sideways over the wrist. The gap can be closed or widened by hand a few times before the silver work-hardens.
