Description
The stones are step-cut rectangles of uneven size, each dropped into its own box collet with the gold burnished up against the girdle. Green runs from bluish at the crown to a warmer grass tone in the long stone at the foot.
Cross and crown are separate castings joined by a hidden link, so the cross swings a little independently and hangs straight even against a moving collar.
The scrolled terminals and the pierced foot are worked front and back — this is a piece that was made to be seen turning.
