Description
Fifty-three round Akoya pearls, graduated from 6 mm at the clasp to 7.5 mm at the centre so the strand sits heavier at the front and does not ride up.
Knotted by hand between every pearl: the knots stop the pearls abrading each other, and if the silk ever fails you lose one pearl rather than the necklace.
Restringing is free for the first ten years — bring it in when the silk starts to grey.
