The stone is domed and unfaceted, and the light collects in one soft band across the middle of it rather than breaking into flashes.
Four claws, each split at the tip so it grips at two points. That is more secure than a single prong on a stone this size and no wider on the finger.
Nothing else is going on: no gallery, no shoulder stones, a tapered band that ends flat. The carnelian is asked to carry the whole ring.
