Description
The two rosettes on each hoop are hollow discs, spiked with grains around the rim and pierced in the middle with a coil of wire. Because they sit low, they act as ballast and keep the hoop hanging true.
Twist direction is opposite on the two hoops — a left-hand rope and a right-hand rope, so the pair mirrors rather than repeats.
One hoop retains a small applied figure at the top where the wire crosses. Its partner lost the same detail long ago; we have not replaced it.
