Description
Malachite bands are never repeatable. This dome runs from black-green at the rim to a light jade swirl off-centre, and the polish is high enough to throw a hard highlight.
Two rope-twisted wires frame the stone, and between them sit alternating flat tabs and round beads, applied one at a time. The gilding has worn thin at the lower edge and shows warm brown metal underneath — we have left it.
The pin and catch are on the reverse. At 52 mm it is heavy for a shirt and better on a coat lapel or a knitted collar.
