Description
The bird is made from the pearl outward. One large irregular baroque pearl forms the breast, and its lumps and hollows decide where the wings and head can go — which is why no two of these are alike and why the maker started with the pearl rather than the design.
Wings, head and a small tail pearl are capped in gold and enamelled white, with fine black lines drawn over the enamel to suggest feathers.
It hangs from a dark, chased bail on a short link, breast forward. Sold without a chain; it wants something fine enough not to argue with the pearls.

The photographs are honest — it is the same colour of gold in daylight as it is on the page, which I did not expect.

Bought for an anniversary. The finish is far better than anything I was shown in the chain shops at twice the price.

Exactly as described. It sits slightly higher on the collarbone than I expected — worth measuring first.

They talked me out of a more expensive piece because it was wrong for my hand. I have bought twice more since.
