Description
The cells are built from thin silver strips soldered on edge, then each one filled with a garnet slice cut to fit — a circle, a wedge, a quarter of the inner roundel.
Behind the stones the maker laid gold foil scored with a fine cross-hatch. It is visible through the thinner garnets and is what stops the red going black in low light.
Roughly a fifth of the cells have lost their stones and show the empty silver bed. This is an excavated object offered as it came out of the ground, and we do not replace missing garnets.

The photographs are honest — it is the same colour of gold in daylight as it is on the page, which I did not expect.

Bought for an anniversary. The finish is far better than anything I was shown in the chain shops at twice the price.

No complaints about the piece itself; delivery took a day longer than the estimate.

They talked me out of a more expensive piece because it was wrong for my hand. I have bought twice more since.

Beautiful piece and the box it arrives in is lovely. Half a star off because I had to email to ask about the chain length.
