Description
The head is cast solid and the hoop drawn from wire, joined behind the collar where a band of coiled wire hides the seam. Muzzle, eye and the scrolled horn are chased after casting.
Hoop and head are deliberately mismatched in weight. The head drags the earring forward so the animal looks out from the lobe rather than lying flat against it.
The hook is the tongue of the ram, passing through a loop on the tail of the hoop. It is a firm closure; open it with a fingernail, not a tool.
