Description
Rose cuts have a flat back and a domed, faceted top — far fewer facets than a brilliant, so the stones glow rather than flash. Under a lamp they go faintly grey, which is correct.
Each collet is scalloped and folded over the stone by hand. The centre stone stands about a millimetre higher than the two flanking it, and the difference is visible from the side.
The shank is fine on purpose: it lets the three stones read as one line rather than three separate settings.
