Description
The bezel is enormous relative to the hoop — a rectangular block carrying two upright oval cartouches, each enclosing a standing figure, each capped by a pair of tall feathers with a sun disc between them.
It is worked entirely in relief. The feathers are cut with individual barbs, and the figures inside the cartouches are modelled deep enough to hold their own shadows.
The hoop behind is plain, thick and slightly out of round from wear. This is an antiquity and it is offered as one, with its export documentation.
