Description
The stone lies across the finger rather than along it, which is the older way of setting an oval and the reason this reads as ancient at a glance.
Around the collar runs a rope of twisted wire, and above it a row of small heart-shaped leaves in gold sheet. The hoop itself is left entirely undecorated — all the work is concentrated in one 15 mm strip.
The carnelian is uncarved and slightly domed, with the waxy surface these stones take when they have been handled for centuries.

Exactly as described. It sits slightly higher on the collarbone than I expected — worth measuring first.

They talked me out of a more expensive piece because it was wrong for my hand. I have bought twice more since.

The photographs are honest — it is the same colour of gold in daylight as it is on the page, which I did not expect.

Bought for an anniversary. The finish is far better than anything I was shown in the chain shops at twice the price.

Beautiful piece and the box it arrives in is lovely. Half a star off because I had to email to ask about the chain length.
